FLEMING RESERVE

Public BBQ

Fleming Reserve sprawls across High Wycombe like a suburban activity hub that's clearly trying to be everything to everyone. The 400-metre concrete oval draws morning joggers and evening cyclists, though the adjacent skate park's concrete surface betrays its age with telltale pits that would make any insurance assessor wince. The BMX track and outdoor gym equipment suggest ambitious council planning, while the playground manages to impress with its range from toddler-friendly basics to more challenging apparatus under protective shade sails. Multiple barbecue areas and toilets complete the picture, though visitors note the lack of natural shade becomes problematic during Perth's relentless afternoon sun. The expansive grounds offer plenty of space for ball sports and dog walking, yet some parents express concerns about unsupervised teenage activity, suggesting this multi-generational space works best with adult supervision during busy periods.
